commented on 29 Sep 2010: I am very fond of fish to eat and as pets. Many years ago when my children were very young we bought 3 goldfish which I named John, Tony and Gordon after John Smith,Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. Eventually John and Tony went the way of all fish but Gorsdon lived for years and became very large. Two days before the general election this year though we found him stretched out along the bottom of the tank… I now have 6 shubinkins who have very noisy table manners.

His use of language was very quirky but I don’t knopw whether that was down to stupidity or if he had a strange sense of humour. One of my favourite quotes is
“Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.”
I could never fathom out why Tony Blair liked him so much – but maybe he just found him funny. No excuse for the Iraq war though

I take it you mean George W Bush, and not his father, George Bush, Senior. I’d be disappointed if that was true, because it would mean I would have to stop eating fish, one of my favourite foods. It’s not the sort of thing you could imagine Albert Einstein would have said, is it? I would have been more impressed if he had said ‘Israelis and Palestinians’ instead of ‘fish and humans’. I read somewhere that someone had once calculated the IQs of all the American presidents, though how he managed to do the earliest ones like Washington and Jefferson I don’t know. Anyway, the one with the highest IQ was Bill Clinton, George Bush’s predecessor. And the lowest? Bush himself!
