I did enjoy being a councillor when I was one and I enjoy being an MSP, I wouldn’t do it otherwise as it involves long hours, being away from home and working at weekends.
I love being a Councillor. I find the work interesting and rewarding and love Chairing the Education Committee. I also like helping the local residents if they have a problem and I enjoy working with local groups and initiatives.
Most of the time, though it’s taking up more of my time than I had expected. But if you want to do your best for people, and they have trusted you by voting for you, you have to do your best.
