Question: Is it true that the councillors won't let Castle Douglas Tesco have their own petrol station?

No Here is the history.
Tesco put in their first application for a supermarket (and withdrew their application for a fuel station). That was granted.
Tesco then put in an application for a fuel station. Where they wanted to put it would have removed much of the landscaping at the entrance to CD – which had all been carefully thought through and agreed as part of the first application. It was refused by councillors and Tesco’s appeal was subsequently dismissed by the Reporter.
If Tesco submitted an application that fully complied with the Council’s planning policies, there would be no reason not to grant it.
