I think they can arrange that in primary schools, but there the cooks know the kids better because the schools are smaller. In secondaries we are always trying to think of ways of encouraging the pupils to take school meals. You seem to be suggesting that giving vegetarian options might be a way, so I’ll certainly think about it because it hasn’t really been discussed before.

I would expect vegetarian and vegan meals to be available in schools – is there a problem in your school, if so I or your local councillor / MSP / MP could take this up with the Director for Education
