Sandra McDowall answered on 24 Sep 2010:
Wigtown Area Committee always gives a grant towards some aspect of the festival and a three year grant was given from the Council Regenration Budget to market and expand the Festival. The Council Create Team also get involved with the school event and the Library Service support the McNeillie Lecture and the Children’s festival. The Council has been a big supporter of the Book Town initiative since the very beginning and with them and other partners a lot of improvements have been made in the town – not least the refurbishment of the County Buildings.
