Dumfries and Galloway Council Administration is a Conservative/LibDem coalition so I am aware of the positive and negative aspects of such arrangements. I feel that coalitions are a good way of taking forward at least part of a party’s manifesto. We have weekly Administration meetings and every Councillor puts forward a point of view. Not even members of the same party agree on everything but there is always a common sense consensus reached and I think that is a good thing. Westminster is now taking things forward in exactly the same way but, as is often the case, Dumfries and Galloway were first!
