Sandra McDowall answered on 24 Sep 2010:
I can’t begin to imagine what Wigtown would be like now if it wasn’t for the Book Town. All the marquees are up for the festival this weekend and the town is looking great. It is now recognised that Wigtown is a good venue to hold an event what with the lovely wide streets and garden and the refurbished Ciounty Buildings. The Merrick Stages Rally was held in the town just a few weeks ago and got really good publicity from the participants and the punters.
