Does you school not have enough desks and jotters – let me know what school it is and I will see what I can do (if you don’t want to do this through this site you can email me at elaine.murray.msp@scottish.parliament.uk)
Desks and jotters? I thought schools were high tech nowadays and used smart boards and computers? Every school is given a budget for material which is managed by the Head Teacher and I haven’t heard any school complaining that it is not enough to cover basics. If I knew the school in question, I could look into it for you.
When I was still teaching up to three years ago I thought we had enough desks, and there has been a drop in the number of school pupils since then. Perhaps there are some extra desks hiding away in some store, which we shall have to find. As for jotters, that surely should be something that your head teacher can buy from his/her budget. Maybe he/she is spending the money on something else. Why don’t you get your school council to ask him/her?
