Question: What are your views on Peter Mandelson? Is he still a highly respected individual within the Labour ranks - is he still involved?? Was he as influential as he says??
In my opinion Peter Mandelson’s time has run its course. I often didn’t agree with him and I didn’t approve of him and Tony Blair publishing their diaries and ‘washing their dirty linen in public’ during the period of the election of the new leader. However I did admire his “chutzpah”, he really didn’t care about what the press said about him and that was quite refreshing. I think Mandy probably thinks he was more influential than he really was..
Sorry William, that’s definitely one for the two Labour people to answer in more depth! However, I could say that I suspect that he might not be as close to the new leader as he was to previous prime ministers!
