Question: How will the spending cuts affect tennagers and their parents?

    That will depend on what the council and government do to reduce spending. The UK Government is due to announce its intentions on 20th October, after that the Scottish Government will have to decide how its going to divide up its budget and councils will know how much they will have and will have to decide what they are going to cut. Sorry I can’t be more definitive just now.

    No decision has been made yet as to how the Council will make the required savings so I can’t really say how the cuts will affect you. I think that the savings are so massive that everyone will be affected in som way.

    It will affect everyone. There could be poorer bus services, leisure centres might have shorter hours and some mums and dads could lose their jobs. Westminster government is in charge of things like benefits. I hope they don’t cut them to much as that could affect the poorer people in society. Sorry not to be more cheerful, but we face a difficult few years. So my advice to you is try to improve your prospects for work by improving your education. There will be light at the end of the tunnel!
